Prayer

The church does not dictate to its members how to communicate with God; however, prayer is certainly seen as the primary method of doing so. Christians are to pray corporately and privately. Meditation is linked with prayer and viewed as a possible method of opening one’s mind to God. The Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective states:

Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, study of Scripture, reflection on God, corporate worship, singing hymns, simplicity, witness, and service are training in godliness. Such disciplines open us to a growing relationship with God and to putting ourselves more completely into the hands of God.
