Calvinism and Arminianism

Calvinism refers to the doctrine taught by John Calvin, a reformer who emphasized that salvation is through grace alone.  Arminianism, in contrast, refers to the idea that we have free choices.  Acceptance of salvation is the choice of a person.  Mennonites tend to agree with the Arminian view.  See also http://www.christianitytoday.com/ct/9ta/9ta087.html or http://www.stnm.org/UncleMarty/luther/10.html
