Mennonites and Mormons
In some parts of the U.S., it is very common to confuse Mennonites and Mormons. The names seem similar and the perception of both groups is that they are “a little bit different.” But the Mormons, also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, are a completely different religious group that was started in the U.S. and organized in 1830 by Joseph Smith, Jr., while Mennonites started in Europe in 1525.
