Inner Peace
Jesus makes it possible for us to live at peace with ourselves. Jesus says the starting point is, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the most important commandment” (Matthew 22:37). Follow the link to read all of Matthew 22.
“This little spark [love], however small it may be in a person, does not come from humankind but from the source of Perfect Love.”
Hans Denck, early Anabaptist leader,
from Selected Writings of Hans Denck.
Followers of Jesus are called to bring healing to relationships, to remove barriers between people, and reflect back love instead of violence.
Jesus ties our restored relationship with God, to our forgiving others and restoring our relationships. “If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, God will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then God will not forgive the wrongs you have done” (Matthew 6:14). Follow the link to read all of Matthew 6.
When we experience how much God loves us we can begin to live at peace with God in our inner selves and are in a much better position to follow the sometimes difficult way of peace in all areas of our lives.
